At Going The Distance Community Outreach, we know that change starts with people like you. Every act of kindness, every dollar, and every moment of your time brings us closer to achieving our mission. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate world for all.

MISSION:

Our mission is to provide uplifting, supportive, and empowering classes, programs, and services to our community that promotes wellness and foster success for all ages, stages and walks of life.

VISION:

Our vision is to be love in action; a supportive and inclusive community pillar, where we provide resources for our communities to learn, find and receive what they need in order to thrive and be successful.

WHAT WE DO:

We are a 501 (3)(c) non profit organization that strives to provide educational, social and well-being services and programs which help students, individuals and families be set up for success and prepare for the various stages of life.

In 2021, Going The Distance Community Outreach’s President and CEO Alexandra Douglas formed Going The Distance Community Outreach, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) aiming to reach and meet the academic, emotional, mental and physical needs of those within our communities.

Ways on which we will utilize your donations:

Securing a Brick and Mortar Location to house all of our operations:

• This location will not only serve as the home base for our non-profit, but also be a beacon of help and love for those within our communities. It will be the home of our food pantry, educational services as well as community meeting spaces.
• The space will also belong to the community as a whole. This location shall not just house our non profit and the services that we provide, but will also provide space for other non-profits and growing businesses to be able to have spaces where they can grow and provide their services and goods to the surrounding communities for their benefit.
• By having a place where support and services are readily available, our communities will continue to not just improve, but also thrive.

• Food Distribution through Food Banks
• Clothing Drives and Distribution 
• Basic Hygiene Support and Supply Distribution

• Literacy programs for adults 
• Job training and skills development programs 
• Financial literacy workshops
• Educational support and advocacy for parents and students with specials needs 
• 504 & IEP Education & support
• Educational Advocacy & Mediation for parents/families and their students
• Homeschool Support and Partnership
• Post Secondary Counseling
• Academic Tutoring
• Preparation for the Military and ASVAB Tutoring
